A Ukrainian model who’s suing her ex-boyfriend for smearing her name after she was arrested for using his credit card to pay for a shopping spree is now being accused by the boyfriend of fabricating the entire lawsuit. And he says her social media posts prove that she’s lying.

According to a New York Post report, Christina Matthaus claims that her 2014 arrest for taking banker Michael Hadjedj’s American Express card and ringing up $5,000 worth of charges on it was not only erroneous, but that all the negative press as well as her passport being seized during the case caused her to lose modeling jobs.

Hadjedj, however, tells a different version of events. One he says is backed up by her numerous posts to her Tumblr account that show her traveling about in places like Monte Carlo, St. Tropez and Nice during the time in question. He’s asking for the suit to be thrown out of court.

“Plaintiff’s passport was never confiscated and she spent the months following her arrest, traveling and frolicking throughout the Mediterranean on yachts and private planes and posting photographs on social media,” Hadjedj says in court papers. “…between the time of her arrest and the end of 2014, plaintiff traveled to: Munich; Cannes; Monte Carlo; Paris; Toronto; Turks and Caicos; Aspen; St. Lucia; Milan; Ibiza; Saint-Tropez; Jakarta; Bali; Mexico City; Strasbourg; Dusseldorf; Istanbul; and Miami.”

Hadjedj also contends that Matthaus, who is the ex-wife of German soccer star Lothar Matthaus, also lied when she said she did not use his credit card for purchases at Bergdorf Goodman, airlines tickets from Lufthansa and the online shopping website Net-a-Porter.

Meanwhile, Matthaus claims that Hadjedj permitted her to use his credit card and only reported her to police as retaliation for an earlier argument.

Matthaus, known professionally as Liliana Nova, has both acting and modeling credits to her name, including appearances in the movie Blood Feast, the television show Project Runway and print work for Elle Magazine.
