A middle school teacher in Kentucky is facing rape charges after she was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a student under the age of 16.
Lindsey Jarvis, 27, pleaded not guilty Monday in Lexington District Court to two counts of rape in the third degree for allegedly having sex with the pupil, according to an Express report. Jarvis is also facing sodomy charges.
Police said an investigation was launched earlier this year, but they were unable to corroborate the allegations until now. The alleged sexual encounters were carried out by Jarvis in several different southern states.
After resigning from her teaching position in June of 2016 , Jarvis, who is married, secured a job as a teacher’s assistant at Veteran’s Park Elementary School the following month, which she also resigned from once the allegations surfaced.
