This looked more like a game of Super Punch-Out than an actual boxing match.

Over the weekend, David Benavidez absolutely beasted his way to victory over Rogelio Medina when he landed a 7-punch combo TKO that knocked Medina out of the freakin’ ring.

Hell, Benavidez landed those punches like he was trying to beat a high score, and, as a reward for his superhuman efforts, the 20-year-old fighter will take on the winner of the Callum Smith vs. Anthony Dirrell fight on September 9th for a shot at the world title.

You probably recognize the name Dirrell as part of one boxing’s biggest stories this past week, after Anthony’s brother Andre was knocked out after the bell by Jose Uzcategui, and their uncle retaliated by sucker punching Uzcategui after the match. You really can’t make stuff like this up.
