Mikey Dahlman’s career as a professional boxer couldn’t have met with a more auspicious beginning.

The middleweight needed all of 2 minutes and 14 seconds to dispose of Rick Ogden in the first round of his first pro bout at the Hammond, Indiana Civic Center over the weekend.

Dahlman knocked Ogden clean through the ropes with a vicious straight right hand that happened so abruptly, it actually looked like Ogden had the upper hand until that very moment. And if you blinked, you might have missed it.

Ogden was reportedly uninjured by the blow, but getting put to sleep in the very first round of a fighter’s career can’t be too good for the psyche.
