If you’ve been fishing enough times, then you know bad weather is just part of the sport. But if you’ve ever seen someone literally get an electric shock from their fishing pole due to the weather, you’ve clearly been on more fishing trips than we have.
With the air filled with electricity fresh off a thunderstorm, one fisherman could barely get his poles in the boat to head back in, because each time he grabbed the rods, he got zapped. While him and his buddy were able to joke about it and laugh it off, it’s important to remember that electricity and water don’t mix. So if you ever catch yourself in a similar situation, it’s probably a good idea to head in immediately.
After seeing this, we’ll make sure we take a pair of insulated gloves with us on those next fishing trips.
