Netflix Adapting ‘Squid Game’ Into A Non-Lethal Reality Competition, And It Needs Players

Like everything else, if there is success on-screen then the spin-offs will follow. It is impossible to call Squid Game anything but a massive success and so, of course, we will get more of it.

Squid Game: The Challenge is coming to Netflix as the streaming giant looks to cash in by taking the concept of Squid Game – people competing in a winner-take-all series of games – but also eliminating the bad part where the loser’s get killed in gruesome ways.

The “worst fate is going home empty-handed” is how the industry giant sold the concept.

Netflix announced that the 10-episode competition consist of 456 players vying for a “life-changing reward of $4.56 million,” it put in the release.

These contests will be competing in games inspired by the series, along with new challenges aimed at eliminating competitors in wide swaths.

“For this round, the Front Man is in search of English-language speakers from any part of the world,” the release added, which is a reference to the overseer in the show.

The show has been hailed by Netflix as its most popular, and is often cited with more than 1.65 billion hours viewed in the first 28 days following its September 2021 release, a record for Netflix.

She original concept has also been renewed for Season Two.
