According to Women’s Health, Planet Fitness conducted a survey of 2,00 individuals and, of the women surveyed, 70 percent said they prefer a man sporting as much as 20 extra pounds. According to the Washington Post, those men account for 37 percent of the population aged between 20-54.

Jessica Correa, senior vice president of marketing at Planet Fitness, said Planet Fitness wanted to see how their members felt about the “dad bod,” and the results were exactly what I needed to hear.

“So on Father’s Day this year, we thought it would be fun to look at how men and women – parents or not – feel about the dad bod,” she said. “Our survey results show the majority of people think positively about dad bods, and men who identify as having them are proud of who they are. That’s exactly how we want all of our members to feel when they come to Planet Fitness.”

So for all of you fellas out there hitting the gym a little too hard, relax. The dad bod is in! Just embrace it, and maybe instead of leg day, hit the bar with your buddies for a few brewskis and get that double cheeseburger you’ve been craving all week. You deserve it, pal.
